Event Name:
Issue Exploration Movie Club: 13th

Event Type(s):
Issue Exploration

Description:

In this 1 hour and 40-minute documentary, scholars, activists, and politicians analyze the criminalization of black and brown Americans and the U.S. prison boom. The 13th Amendment to the U. S. Constitution abolished slavery. But, it also includes a little-known provision. This documentary makes the case that this loophole provided the justification for continuing domination of people of color.

Join us to deepen your understanding of racism and share perspectives with Forum colleagues on March 12.
