The St. Louis County Library Foundation’s Reading Garden Series for Young Audiences and The Novel Neighbor Present:

In Conversation with Novelist Shawntelle Madison
National Book Award-winning young adult novelist and poet, Elizabeth Acevedo presents a stunning novel-in-verse about doing the right thing, no matter what. Lil is rebellious, she's loyal; she's figuring out what kind of good person she wants to be. But more than anything? Lil wants to be free. When her instinct for freedom leads to juvenile detention, Lil knows the only person who might understand is her big brother, Aldwin. Except he’s more distant now than ever, and only Lil seems to realize how important it is to get to him.
